Large Contemplation Columns Project: Garden Party Recently installed in a local Bay Area garden, these large Contemplation Columns are about 3.5 inches wide with varying heights: 48", 36", and 24". Acrylic paint was used to create a palette of custom colors that compliment the beautiful native trees and flowers used in this very special space.

Contemplation Columns: Some of the comments that I have received over the years from people looking at and buying my artwork is that the pieces seem very "architectural" in nature. I suspect people are responding to a kind of perceived structure or orderliness associated with geometric forms, or simply understood lines, or maybe even one shape on top of another. Whatever the case may be, I'll take the observation! 

My intent for these pieces is that they be a kind of "meditative totem." Looking at the colors and forms, turning each column to make a combination of colors that satisfies, and then simply reflecting on whatever comes to mind are all things that I envisioned people doing with these columns. Art that is both functional and beautiful really appeals to me. And I don't think there is anything wrong with simply sitting down for a moment to ponder, to peruse, and to wonder. These columns can help you do just that!
