My work for 2013 and part of 2014 focused on two things: current rural architecture in my area and interpreted images from the Library of Congress's data bank of photos from the 30's and 40's.
Some of the images shown focus on the photo documentary projects undertaken by the Farm Security Administration during FDR's presidency. Those projects were meant to highlight and bring attention to rural and urban poverty, areas affected by flood and drought, and the role of agriculture and industry in the economy. It's a fascinating time period and one whose elements can be found today in our current way of life.
